PLANCK: systematic effects induced by periodic fluctuations of arbitrary shape

چکیده
A fundamental requirement in the new generation of high resolution Cosmic Microwave Background imaging experiments is a strict control of systematic errors that must be kept at μK level in the final maps. Some of these errors are of celestial origin, while others will be generated by periodic fluctuations of the satellite environment. These environment instabilities will cause fluctuations in the measured signal output thus generating correlated effects in the reconstructed maps. In this paper we present an analytical study of the impact of periodic signal fluctuations on the measured sky maps produced by the Planck survey. In particular we show how it is possible to estimate analytically the damping factor of the peak-to-peak amplitude of the fluctuation at the instrument output after the projection in the final maps.

At Planck-scale, spacetime is " foamy " due to quantum fluctuations predicted by quantum gravity. Here we consider the possibility of using spacetime foam-induced phase incoherence of light from distant galaxies and gamma-ray bursters to probe Planck-scale physics. In particular, we examine the cumulative effects of spacetime fluctuations over a huge distance. Our analysis shows that they are f...
متن کاملAnalytical Solution for a Two-Layer Transversely Isotropic Half-Space Affected by an Arbitrary Shape Dynamic Surface Load
The dynamic response of a transversely isotropic, linearly elastic layer bonded to the surface of a half-space of a different transversely isotropic material under arbitrary shape surface loads is considered. With the help of displacements and stresses Green’s functions, an analytical formulation is presented for the determination of the displacements and stresses at any point in both surface l...
متن کاملSpatial detection of ferromagnetic wires using GMR sensor and based on shape induced anisotropy
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new technique for row spacing measurement in a wire array using giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor. The self-rectifying property of the GMR-based probes leads to accurately detection of the magnetic field fluctuations caused by surface-breaking cracks in conductive materials, shape-induced magnetic anisotropy, etc. The ability to manufacture probes h...

By defining the loop inductance for NQUID and considering sinusoidal Fourier series for the current-phase relations of its nanowires and replacing two Langevin equations with one two-dimensional Fokker-Planck equation, we have obtained analytical relations for the characteristics of the asymmetric NQUID. On the other hand for DC SQUIDs and nanoSQUID, we have to consider simultaneously the effe...
متن کاملON THE EXISTENCE OF PERIODIC SOLUTIONS FOR CERTAIN NON-LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS
Here we consider some non-autonomous ordinary differential equations of order n and present some results and theorems on the existence of periodic solutions for them, which are sufficient conditions, section 1. Also we include generalizations of these results to vector differential equations and examinations of some practical examples by numerical simulation, section 2. For some special cases t...
